Freedom and control in the Australian Broadband Network
This is the ning for the critical internet network fibreculture. The initial purpose of this site is to support a series of online and offline events examining
Freedom and Control in the Australian Broadband Network.
This site includes an
open blog for self-contained considered posts and a
discussion group for more conversational dialogues. These online activities support two free events: a
roundtable at the University of Sydney on December 16 and a
forum on December 19 at the Interactive Entertainment Conference at UNSW.
About fibreculture
Fibreculture was established as an email list in 2000, We organised several events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane between 2001-2004. More recently, the
Fibreculture journal has become an active and well respected critical new media studies journal.
What to do now
